Newspaper Kite Building & Flying Workshop

NEWSPAPER KITE BUILDING & FLYING WORKSHOP

Mega Megalodons of Hawaii in association with    Kaimu Farmer’s Market is the proud sponsor of the Newspaper Kite Building & Flying Workshop.

C'mon down Kalapana Way and discover the long-forgotten art of building flyable newspaper kites. This free workshop will provide all the advice, supplies, and tools necessary to build a newspaper kite, then get to flying it like a pro!

Building, flying kites has both enormous physical and mental benefits. It's also a fun quick (20mins approx) project to do with a child, friend, or by yourself. The satisfaction of building and flying a kite is a terrific self-confidence-building project that will undoubtedly benefit one's daily life.

This is a super easy guided step-by-step workshop using newspaper, twine, wood dowel rods, glue, and tape that will progress as a group.

Adults or children with disabilities or special needs are encouraged to participate. Accommodations can be arranged if needed.

But what good is a kite without kite string? Included in your gift bag with workshop participation is a swivel, kite string, and string reel so you can fly your kite right away.

*Due to the need for sharp tools to adjust frame rod size plus the need to make grooves on the ends of the rods. These 2 steps will be completed before the workshop. Use of scissors will be necessary.
